Fundraising Letter PS: 25 things to say that the powerful (examples and samples)
Donors read postscripts. This an important, but the sad reality in fundraising. Sad because the PS is stupid and belongs in another millennium. In this era of treatment text, we should add another PS. However, a major donor, since reading a PS is a donor seeking information. And your luck.
According to direct mail consultant Allyn Kramer, there are five "hot spots" in direct mail where readers first. Here, in order:
1. outer
2. Title of brochure
3. Editor (the letter is a)
4. Signature line (which is the letter of)
5. Postscript
Since the PS is part of your letter that you can be sure of its donors to read, you should write something that will encourage donors to send a gift or take action you want. Here are some ideas.
- Re-phrase your question in a new way
- Reiterate the deadline for members to donate if no
- Point to your site from the donor to make a donation online
- Invite donors to refer a friend who can support your organization
- Invite donors to fill out the enclosed reply envelope and
- Remind donors that their donations are tax deductible
- Invite donors to join its monthly giving program
- Repeat if necessary to support a new way
- Include a brief history and powerful demonstration in favor of your donation will make a difference Immediate
- Invite donors to make their gifts
- Offer a free guide on how to write a will or a bequest your organization, sent to anyone sending a donation
- Attracting the attention of your readers to an article in the enclosed brochure that illustrates your current needs and encourages a gift

- Invite readers to visit their site to complete a survey (and ask for the gift of the new ago)
- Leave your phone number or address e-mail and invite donors to contact me with any questions

- Add a personal note about why you are so passionate about this particular ask - and why you must send the donor a donation today
