exemptions from state and federal taxes if they match?

My husband and I are filing our taxes together for the first time in 2008. Us married in June last year. My husband was working in the state of Idaho for 3 months between January and March and then moved to Texas. We got married in June and since then have been in Texas. Now for the state of Idaho, who is trying to present a part-year resident with a marital status of single, because he was not married when he was in Idaho. But we find that the Idaho Form43 state prosecutors said that the number of exemptions that have to match the federal income tax (which in our case is 2, since we are filing jointly). What do we do?

You may not have been married in Idaho, but you filed federal taxes (correctly) married. Idaho taxes must also match married. It is a part-year resident, you are a nonresident. Be sure to "source" of income properly. Take it from there.
